Trocadéro --> Montmartre

On our first full day in Paris, we awoke in our petite apartment to a chilly but beautifully sunny day.  The sun was bursting through the puffy white clouds.  It made me feel ready for exploration.  We set out from Jean- Nicot and walked past the Tour Eiffel towards Trocadéro.  We met a nice couple from Belgium and asked for our picture to be taken, though a certain little pigeon kept sneaking into the frame... we then found the nearest metro station and headed towards Montmartre, the setting from that famous scene in the movie Amelie (soo soo good).  I really really liked Montmartre and Sacré-Coeur was stunning.  As we walked up the steps to the giant cathedral, there were lots of people sitting about, basking in the October sun.  The atmosphere was just sweet and inviting.  We made our way to the top and checked out the church.  Unfortunately no pictures are allowed inside, but with the nuns singing and people milling about the opulent stained glass and statues, it was very impressive.  Almost ethereal.
