Sisters, I miss you so much already!!  Thank you big sis for letting me crash at your place and for taking little sis and I to La Piedad.  Thank you little sis for coming down and visiting me and making me pancakes!!

Tired, jet lagged, and needing a shower, but I made it to Frankfurt.

6 more hours and I am back to the desert land.

Thanks to everyone for sending me wonderful photos of the fall!!  Keep them coming!  Soon enough I will get to see the leaves for myself (if they haven't all already fallen), I'll be headed back stateside NEXT WEEK!  More details on the trip to come... I can't wait!

once in a lifetime

Yesterday at the diner they were serving camel kabsa.  I have been a vegetarian (though I eat fish occasionally) for the past 5 years, but when I saw a cultural opportunity, I had to take it.  So folks, I have officially eaten camel.  I will never do it again.  The flavoring (as with all kabsa) was amazing, but the texture was too tender and fatty.  The gamey, fattiness permeated through the spices and stuck with me for the rest of the day.  It was a once in a lifetime adventure!
