about the journey, not the destination

Thuwal --> Yambu --> passing the stinky oil refinery --> $10 worth of gas --> palm tree graveyard -->Al Ula --> lots of camels

  1. Do camels just roam free across the desert like wild horses in the western US?

  2. YES! Camels do just roam all over the place across the desert, but... I have been told that they are actually all owned by someone. Camels are extremely valuable/ expensive so a wild camel would quickly be scooped up... I don't know how the owners don't lose their camels though because they pretty much just walk around everywhere and are not fenced in or tied to anything. Perhaps they are loyal creatures :)
