We exited the metro and there, right in front of us was the Arc de Triomphe. It is big. And impressive. The Arc was built to honor those that fought in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The names of French generals are inscribed all over the Arc. We checked out this oh-so-famous monument and then quickly made our way down the Champs-Élysées. It was a cold day and the clouds were promising rain. We ducked into some shops to warm our hands but the insane crowds quickly pushed us on our way.
