Midwest Roadtrip III

If I didn't live in the world's great sandbox, you know where I would move?  Madison, Wisconsin.

Surprising, I know.  To be honest, I did not expect much of the Cheese State, we only went there so that I could reunite with my long lost lady-friend.  But holy cow, Madison is really great!  There's good food, good beer, great people, live music, lakes-galor, university smarts, a statue of a famous Norwegian (ironic?) and people zipping around bikes all over the place.  I've said it before, and I'll probably say it again, but a place I'd like to live is a place with people on bikes.  There's nothing like the wind through your hair and fun between your legs.

  2. I have a friend who teaches there. He loves it. Hard to ride a bike in three feet of snow...but summer sure looks like fun.

  3. You just need to get some awesome studded snow tires. http://www.bikewagon.com/continental-spike-claw-120-studded-winter-tire-26-x-2-1?CAWELAID=1889660774&catargetid=400006350000144014&cadevice=c&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CNLNtJLdkbkCFYtDMgodPQcAiA

Plus the city does an excellent job of clearing the sidewalks and bike trails.
