Happy Valentines Day Mamor!!  I cannot be with you today on this great day of love because I am still stuck on this darn boat that reeks of diesel, but know that you are in my thoughts.  These photos are from your birthday and I thought that they were a nice reminder of a day we spent with some of the people we love.  I love you!  See you in a few days!

Valentines Day Adventure: Part IV

I am a sucker for ungulates.  Giraffes, horses, donkeys, camels, dromedary, unicorns, whatever, I love them.  Like a little kid with a puppy, I feel compelled to chase them, pet them, cuddle them.  Unfortunately, sometimes they do not feel the same.  I come closer, they walk further.  I walk further, they walk even further.  And the consequence of this is that when they flee, they leave behind things that get stuck in my shoes.

It is worth it though, one day, I will catch me one.

Valentines Day Adventure: Part II

And then, when everyone was finished playing on the playground, the guys took us to a 1,200 year old palace!  I am sure, just what you all did on your Valentines Day?  We might not have a lot of date-options here, but Qasr Al Alya was really cool.  This place is less than an hour from where I live and it is said to have been built by either Umar bin Abdul Aziz or Zubaidah, the wife of Harron Rasheed.  It was used as either a government building or a pilgrim service center as it is along the route taken by the Prophet.

We had a fun time exploring around and checking out the intricately laid stones.  I thought the arches were really cool, unbelievable that they are still standing!

Valentines Day Adventure: Part I

Men will always be children.  Regardless of if they are 15 or 25 or 35, if they see a playground, they will go and play.

To be honest, I too went and played for a bit until after I tried the "spinny thing" which subjects your body to very strong centrifugal forces causing the contents of your stomach to approach your throat....

...but, we started our V-Day in the playground.  The Boys- Pedro, Marek, and Pablo- had arranged a surprise for us ladies- Ingrid, Aga, and I.  So we gathered, and played while waiting for the often-late Latinos.  What would await us, we did not yet know, but we were off to a good start...

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentines Day.  It was pretty laid back around here.  I made some pancakes then we joined some friends for a Surprise Adventure in the desert.  What did you do?

More stories to come, enjoy the weekend!
